Epidemic Of Loneliness

Isolation and loneliness are becoming increasingly prevalent in our society across all ages. One of the driving forces behind Wild & Salty is to facilitate a platform for individuals and groups to meet like-minded people in a relaxed and safe environment.

Through a variety of shared activities and adventures, our goal is to build a growing community in Devon and beyond.

Limited Time Spent In Nature

We believe modern lifestyles, increased urbanisation, technology and screen time is making it challenging for individuals to find time to get back into nature. We offer easy and safe access to the natural elements; whether that’s river swimming, hiking across ancient moorlands or enjoying the movements of the ocean.

Our goal is to shed the distractions of modern living and rediscover ourselves within nature.

  • George Kershaw

    CO-FOUNDER

After years of working on superyachts and travelling around the world, George finally found himself in South Devon working as a seaweed farmer. He spends his days surfing at Bantham Beach, training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (where he met the other George), finding remote swim spots on Dartmoor and aiming to help others rediscover their connection to the natural elements.

  • George Wakeford

    CO-FOUNDER

Growing up in the West Country, George is passionate about all things outdoors. In the summer months, he spends his spare time spear-fishing and foraging the many nooks and crannies of the local coastline. When the winter hits, he joins George and the local surf community at Bantham Beach.

  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Introduction

BJJ is one of the most fascinating, popular, and safe martial arts, where a small man or woman can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger adversary.

The sport is one of the best physical and mental workouts you can do as it offers a variety of benefits, such as weight loss, improved confidence, problem-solving skills, and discipline. This gentle art is often referred to as ‘human chess’.
